In January 2022, Shanghai Dashuncome Medical Technology hired three oversea locations for storing Covid-19 medical supplies, from which clients can take delivery directly.
The three warehouses currently open are in Milan, Los Angeles, and New York. Several more are expected to be available in Germany, Japan, and Netherland soon.
These warehouses have been specially designated for stocking medical gloves, masks, protective clothing, Covid-19 PCR/antigen test kits, and other medical essentials for Covid prevention, all of which are CE certified. It takes a shorter period for clients to receive goods from these warehouses — compared with shipments from China — as less time would be spent on the China customs declaration.
In March 2020, China imposed a stricter policy for exporting SARS-CoV-2 reagents, medical masks, protective clothing, ventilator, and infrared thermometer. Exporters need to spend extra time on acquiring approval from the customs, which significantly adds to the uncertainty of shipment.
“Setting up oversea locations is the best solution to mitigate the effects of the tightened export regulation”, said Liu, Dashuncome supply chain manager.
