Shanghai Dashunkang Medical Technology Co., Ltd. organized the donation of epidemic prevention supplies to Nepal at 10 a.m. on May 7, and eight pharmaceutical technology companies (Shanghai Dashunkang Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Hunan Haiyuantang Pharmaceutical Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., Wuhan EasyDiagnosis Biomedicine Co., Ltd., Ningbo Shengyurui Medical Appliances Co., Ltd., Hunan Ruomantai Biological Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Osto Technology Co., Ltd., Nanning TECBOD Biological Technology Co., Ltd., JiangXi Bomester Medical Technology Co., Ltd.) responded quickly. On the same day, they decided to donate a batch of epidemic prevention supplies to Nepal.
The donation consists of 18 non-invasive ventilators, 5 hypochlorous acid generator, 320 infrared thermometers, 300,000 disposable medical masks, 500 PPE kits, 300 respirator mask, 100,000 novel coronavirus nucleic acid detection kits, 20,000 rapid antigen test kits with a total value of about US$545,000.
Depending on the type and quantity of the donated materials, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs contacted the Chinese Embassy in Nepal to recommend Arniko Society as recipient. In addition, the ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal replied: "This is a good action for doing good and accumulating virtue. On behalf of the Embassy, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you."
Epidemic prevention supplies donated by companies
The companies began shipping the donated supplies on May 9, which lasted two months. At 9 a.m. on July 6, all donated epidemic prevention supplies arrived in Kathmandu and donated to Arniko Society.
On 11 July, some of the supplies were donated to a COVID-19 specialty hospital and COVID-19 isolation center designated by the Kathmandu Municipality. The Mayor of Kathmandu, the Chairman and Secretary-General of the Arniko Society attended the donation ceremony.
